Advocacy
Through lobbying, grassroots advocacy, and negotiations on behalf of our members, we help to define health care policy as it relates to vision and eye health. We also foster inter-professional relations with health organizations and industry partners to advance eye health care in B.C.

We support our members in achieving professional excellence by providing doctors of optometry and optometric staff with continuing education, conferences and seminars that allow them to enhance their knowledge and skills and stay current with advances in the profession.

Volunteer Opportunities
Members are invited to volunteer with us to support the profession and the Association. Our committed volunteers contribute in numerous ways, including:
- advocating on behalf of doctors
- working on key awareness campaigns
- participating on association committees
- representing optometry at trade shows and other events
In turn, volunteering can help members develop a network of like-minded doctors and develop professionally. Members are invited to participate, either by joining a committee of interest or by running in an election for the Board. More detailed information can be found on the BC Doctors of Optometry member site or by contacting the Association.
