Children’s Vision Month: BCDO On Transit
British Columbia, October 15, 2024 – This Children’s Vision Month, BCDO has hit the public transit system across British Columbia with a second campaign highlighting children’s eye health.
Why take your child in for an eye exam?
Around 80% of a child’s learning is through their vision. How well children can see directly impacts their learning at school. It’s an important part of their education. Doctors of Optometry know this need and can help protect you and your child’s vision through regular eye exams.
When does my child need an eye exam?
Doctors of Optometry recommend:
- having your child’s first eye exam at six months of age
- a complete optometric eye exam between six and nine months of age
- at least one eye exam between the ages of two and five and yearly after starting school
Remember to book you and your child’s eye exams today through our Find A Doctor tool! We have over 800 Doctors of Optometry active in the community. While you’re outside, and happen to spot our transit ads, snap a photo and tag us on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
