Changes to Licensure in BC

British Columbia, 14 March, 2025 – The College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC) has announced that the NBEO exam is no longer accepted as a pathway to optometry licensure in the province.

We recognize that this decision creates uncertainty for students planning to practice in BC and for members who mentor or support new graduates. BC Doctors of Optometry is actively working to support both current and future optometrists as we navigate this change together.
